Joshua Wheatley is an Extended Scope Practitioner / Physiotherapist, working in both private practice, the NHS within a tier 2 Orthopaedic triage service and in a first point of contact role within a primary care setting.
He has been using integrated point of care ultrasound for both diagnostic purposes and interventional procedures since 2017 after completing his training through Bournemouth University. He underwent subsequent Ultrasound supervision in Manchester, Lincolnshire and Buckinghamshire following this.
Joshua has developed and leads on a number of clinics within his current NHS role to integrate point of care ultrasound to patients presenting with musculoskeletal problems and completes hundreds of guided interventional procedures every year. He has also developed and runs a hydrodistension Clinic for patients presenting with frozen shoulder, avoiding lengthy delays into radiology or secondary care orthopaedics.
